You know that I’m always….yes ALWAYS sure to break up before or on Valentines day! Eff buying all kinds of candy, hearts, roses and misc stuff that will only see the life of 2 hours before I get some action.

I am not that cold, but I feel good being single, young, and getting to talk to plenty of ladies guilt free! It feels like society forces us single people to quickly get together with someone and serenade them with a bunch of “marketed” chocolates, flowers, cards, etc. in order to fit in. My life doesn’t fit well with those marketed stuff purely for the fact that it makes me broke! I tend to serenade my ladies in different ways (in depth blog post about dating coming soon) that require less money and more of a quality connection.

So this mix goes out to everyone who feels tied down and thinking twice about being with that someone. Are you really with them for the right reasons…or are you sucking their resources dry so you can get by?

This is my 1st official beat making video for the world. I was inspired to make a simple beat and I recorded the process in which I make a beat. I mentioned in a earlier blog post about aspiring to be a great producer and I took my own advice in the section of emulating a style of music I like. I was feeling a 2001 Dr. Dre west coast feel when I was playing this beat. I felt that if I recreated something like the Chronic 2001, I would be able to appreciate the music and its respective layers. What it is? This week we can thank Dj Luicidal again for dropping by my radio show (Tuesdays 2-6pm) and killin’ show with a new Nas track. Sly Fox, which pokes fun of Fox News and other major media conglomerates has the perfect mixture of a good raw beat and lyrics that’ll make you keep hitting back on your iPod. The lyrics are sooooo powerful that I had to include them in the post so you can see how powerful his verses are.  Next week on July 15th Nas album will drop and this track will be on it.

I have been on my “internets” grind this week. After chatting it up with my homie Dj Luicidal aka The King of Bootlegs, homeboy told me to check out an unreleased Kanye track. From my understanding it was supposed to drop on the Late Registration album but never dropped.

I created this beat about 2 months ago. It was a Wednesday morning, I didn’t have work, and I had just figured out how to play Clyde Carson’s – 2 Step (Produced by Dr. Dre Neff-U *Thanks to Dj Luicidal for the correction) on my piano. After tapping keys for about 1 hour, I figured, how cool would it be if I played the keys in a chord and see where I would get. I got a cool 4 bar piano loop, then kept building with violins, bass, then the drums. The very last thing to make this beat thugish was the cold church bells. After that, it was on!

I recorded all the loops to Pro Tools, and worked my magic mixing and doing the finishing composing.

Then, in comes….

my homie from back in the day Martin.

This guy brought his entourage of homies and they layed down a few lines on the track. Then I gave the beat to my boy RS, and he fuxed wid the drumz to make it sound even more gangster! Well, its enough of me talking and here is the beat for download:
